Indonesia – Demographic description

The citizens who participated in World Wide Views on Climate and Energy in Indonesia were close to the proportion of population in Indonesia in age, education, occupation and geographic. The slightly discrepancy was in gender. The participants were 44% women and 56% men. There was an overrepresentation of the group of men. The population in Indonesia of women and men are 49.7% : 50.25%. Members of environmental organizations in Indonesia were almost represented by the participants of WWViews in Indonesia. There was overrepresentation in a group of active members of environmental organization. The participants were 22% otherwise the Indonesian population data showed that the active members of environmental organization were 19.4%. The high discrepancy was in occupation of participants. The percentage of participants, the group of no education was 2%, primary school 9%, high school 5%, some university 23% and university 26%. The under representations were on the group of no education, primary school and high school of Indonesian population, they were 7.8%, 36.3% and 22.6% respectively. Otherwise, the overrepresentations were on the group of some university and university of population in Indonesia. They were 26.1% and 7.2% respectively.
